Computing nowadays permeates every aspect of life from air traffic control to digital entertainment. The Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology provides students with a broad and solid grounding in this field, and enhances their technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. In addition, it prepares students to further their studies in related areas at university.

Programme Aims & Features

This programme includes two main areas of study: Computer Science and Business Information Systems.

Business Information Systems Theme

This theme equips you with knowledge of both information technology and business administration. Graduates will have a solid foundation in both areas, giving them a competitive edge in the technical and commercial sectors of the community.

Opportunities for Further Studies

Graduates of this programme can pursue a relevant Bachelor's degree at local or overseas universities. Specifically, a Computer Science Theme graduate can apply for either a Bachelor of Science degree (e.g., BSc in Computer Science / BSc in Computer Engineering), or a Bachelor of Engineering degree (e.g., BEng in Computer Science). While a graduate of Business Information Systems Theme can apply for a Bachelor's Degree of Business Administration in Information Systems (BBA in Information System).

Graduates may be granted credit exemption if admitted to degree programmes offered by overseas universities shown in the list below.

Career Prospects

The Associate Degree opens doors to jobs in government and the commercial sector, including posts in Programming and Systems Development. Graduates can also pursue a career in Technical Support, Technical Sales and Promotion, Business Analysis or administrative work.
