Staff of the Culture and Media domain actively engaged in academic and practical research at the interface between cultural and technological change, addressing cutting-edge topics concerning digital media and seeking a critical understanding of social, economic and creative dynamics.

Programme Aims & Features

The programme is a natural extension of the popular Media and Cultural Studies theme in the College, with much more emphasis on the practical nature of media. In collaboration with a leading media company in Hong Kong, students are able to get out of the academic framework of media and to look at the industrial practice as well as the practical constraints of operating a publishing company.

Opportunities for Further Studies

This programme provides graduates with excellent opportunities for further studies. They can go on to pursue an academic-oriented bachelor's degree at local or overseas universities in Media and Communication Studies, Cultural Studies Comparative Literature or they can go for an undergraduate programme with a practical emphasis, such as Creative Media, Film and Video Production, Advertising, Broadcast Journalism and Visual Media.

Career Prospects

The practical training allows graduates to embark on a wide array of careers, including advertising, marketing, art management, public relations and creative industry in both the public and private sectors.
