Programme Aims & Features

Are you interested in learning about the world around you, asking questions, meeting people, reading and writing? If so, then as a student of International Journalism you will enjoy acquiring the practical skills of interviewing, news reporting, writing, editing and translation. You will also learn about the power of the press, its challenges, and the ethical debates surrounding the profession through case studies and class discussions.

Opportunities for Further Studies

International Journalism enables graduates to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Communication Studies at local or overseas universities. Students may also join the Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) programme run by the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) in HKU. Practical training in English and Chinese writing equips graduates with the language skills to apply for a broad range of undergraduate programmes in the Facuities of Arts: Communication, Applied Language Studies, Professional Communication and Public Administration.
