It is generally recognized that HKU SPACE Community College is a pathway to universities, but what you may not realize is that the pathway itself can generate lots of benefits to students who walk past. Although the two years of study in the AALS programme is an exhausting journey, we gain professional legal knowledge through tackling the key branches of laws in a concise and practical manner. It has been particularly uplifting to meet some caring lecturers who are strongly motivated to teach well and to make friends with a network of intelligent schoolmates who are striving for the same goal. Even though the tempo in the College is speedy and the competition for university offers is keen, the experience of studying in the AALS programme is bound to be a valuable one.

It seems like yesterday when I just walked in here not knowing what to expect on the first day of my Orientation. Doing Legal Studies in HKU SPACE l paved my way to University. Activities and programmes they offer aim to enhance students’ wellrounded abilities. Indeed, I was not only a student taking a minimum of 11 courses, but also a mentee in the Mentorship programme, a participant in the Leadership programme, a member in both the Rugby and English Clubs, a nominee into the English-speaking competition, and a student representative for all fellow students. This was all during my first year in HKU SPACE Community College. I have extended my vision and knowledge as far as possible using my own initiative. Now, I am about to see a million things I have never seen before and do all the things I have dreamed of.

My time in HKU SPACE Community College is one that cannot be forgotten. From the friends I made to the lessons I learnt, both in and out of the classroom, everything seems to memorable. The transition period from secondary to tertiary education was made smooth by the welcoming teachers and I truly believe that the two years I spent at HKU SPACE Community College were crucial to shaping who I am today, not to mention that it helped me decide firmly what I wanted to do with my life.

My experience in HKU SPACE Community College is unforgettable and wonderful. During those two years, I developed a positive learning attitude. I joined in several activities. Now I have graduated from the College, but I still keep a close relationship with lecturers and former classmates. The College has adopted an approach based on diversified teaching and bilingual education that has laid down a solid foundation in English and Chinese. I know this will help me in my university education.
