Chan Chung Ho, Matthew
- Current Student of Higher Diploma in Aviation Studies (Year 1) in 2010-11
My father once told me that earlier in his childhood, travelling on a
plane was a luxury, but now it becomes a necessity. During the last few
decades, innovations in aircraft manufacturing and delivery of services have
revolutionized the way people travel.
I am convinced that a position in an international organization relevant
to world affairs would allow me to pursue a wide range of possibilities.
In March, I was invited to participate in the ICAO Asia-Pacific conference
in Korea. During that time, the conference opened up a wide discussion
on reviewing existing regulations and a new regulatory environment for
educating and training of the next generation of aviation professionals. For
my role, I was working with my team through meetings and presentations
to reach the aviation personnel worldwide. We gave ideas on how to tackle
the anticipated shortage of competent personnel required in the industry
from a student’s point of view.
Being a student representative of the ICAO-NGAP outreach committee, I
developed understanding to the major issues concerning the ever-changing
aviation world. My enthusiasm is for aviation simply sparked further.
