I did not get good results in HKALE and I was worried about the possibility of gaining admission to any university. After much consideration, I chose to study Higher Diploma programme in Engineering at HKU SPACE Community College instead of re-taking Form 7.
During the school life at HKU SPACE Community College, I was well equipped with engineering skills and techniques, which is now useful in my current university study. Lecturers were patient and professional. They taught us how to build confidence and face any challenges. I have many good memories here.
In 2010, I was admitted to the Bachelor of Engineering programme at The University of Hong Kong. I am very glad that many of my classmates were also admitted to the Engineering programme. HKU SPACE Community College has helped me to pursue my goal.

After receiving my HKALE results, I was very worried about my prospects
as they were not good enough for me to gain admission to any university.
Fortunately, I asked my teachers in secondary school and they gave me
some advice about studying for a higher diploma. Eventually, I chose
to study in the Higher Diploma in Engineering programme in HKU SPACE
Community College.
When I was studying in HKU SPACE Community College, I learned lots of
engineering skills and techniques as lecturers always took great care of
us and were patient. Moreover, HKU SPACE Community College provided
a good learning environment and adequate facilities for us.
Now, I am a Year 1 student of The University of Hong Kong Bachelor
of Engineering course. I am very glad that my study in HKU SPACE
Community College has helped me to pursue my goal. I hereby
express my sincere thanks to HKU SPACE Community College and
the teachers there.
Once I got my HKALE results, I immediately found myself puzzled with the available options to study. On one hand, my results were not good enough to be admitted by any local universities, and I was reluctant to spend another year to repeat the HKALE on the other hand. Eventually, I decided to work, but after two years in the job market, I finally realized a fact that excellent job opportunities are always reserved for higher educated individuals. Thus I was determined to pursue higher level of education, and I chose to study in the Higher Diploma in Engineering programme in HKU SPACE Community College, which gave me a brand new vision and experience of learning I never had throughout my previous school lives. Not only did this programme introduce fundamental and professional knowledge of Engineering, but it also enabled me and my classmates to apply these skills and knowledge to solve for practical engineering problems. More importantly the way the courses were delivered fostered my skills of independent thinking and problem solving, which easily help me transit to my university life in Hong Kong University after my first-year completion in the HD programme. In retrospect, I am very glad that my study in HKU SPACE was not only a right choice but also has helped me pursue my goal.
