The last decade has seen a growing awareness of the role design can play in improving the quality of life in Hong Kong. This has led to an increasing demand for design knowledge and skills, especially amongst the younger generation. In response to this demand, the College offers these two programmes which aim to develop both the conceptual thinking and technical capabilities of young people who aspire to become designers.
The Higher Diploma Programme in Interior Design and the Higher Diploma Programme in Visual Communication aim to provide students with a solid training in design concepts and working skills, which will enable them to enter the design profession or advance academically at the end of the year 2 programme.
Graduates are eligible for admission to the following full-time top-up degree programmes offered locally by HKU SPACE Centre for International Degree Programmes in collaboration with the following university:
Graduates may also apply for admission to Year 2 of a three-year degree programme in the UK or Year 3 of a four-year programme in the USA. The following universities recognise credits earned in our programme:
Graduates will possess sufficient knowledge to handle the work of junior designers.
In addition to the general entrance requirements, you should have an aptitude for art. You will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a simple portfolio of your artworks.
