The HKSAR Government has identified trade and product services as one of the four pillar industries supporting Hong Kong's economy. There is an increasing demand for manpower in trade services including business services, marketing, product promotion, media production, trade fairs and exhibitions, etc., and this demand has created a corresponding increase in training and education programmes geared towards the development of human resources in this area.
This programme integrates a wide range of disciplines from the marketing, advertising and communications fields to meet the needs of today's marketing and media practitioners and to keep pace with the requirements of an increasingly competitive environment.
The aim is to provide students with the conceptual understanding and practical knowledge of key marketing, communications and media concepts and skills needed for developing into professional practitioners.
Practical job placement will form an important part of the training. Arrangements will be made for selected students to work as summer trainees in the marketing and media industries to acquire valuable practical experience. This will prepare them for the future career.
