The Pre-Associate Degree Programme is a one-year programme offered by HKU SPACE Community College for Secondary 5 graduates to broaden your horizons and prepare you to excel academically. It is a well-established alternative to the traditional matriculation course.

The College adopts a broad-based learning mode. In addition to language and generic courses, you can select courses from a wide variety of disciplines like science and technology, social sciences, culture and media, art and humanities, and philosophy. This rich curriculum aims to provide whole-person development, essentially the cultivation of your potentials, independent and critical thinking, and also analytical and presentation skills so as to prepare you for tertiary education and future career development.

Unlike the traditional HKCEE curriculum, your overall learning outcomes will not be determined by a final examination. Rather, you will be evaluated continuously throughout the academic year. Our Pre-AD students have benefited from the continuous assessments and the reduction of examination pressure, and many have matured into confident and self-motivated learners who strive to actualize their goals

Our statistics show that a significant proportion of our Associate Degree students have been admitted by local and overseas universities after their first or second year of studies. Our Associate Degree and Higher Diploma will prepare you well for a smooth transition to further studies in fine universities in the world, e.g., the University of Hong Kong.
