Course Description
We offer this Advanced Diploma in Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibition (M.I.C.E.) and Event Management focusing on special management features of these important sectors within the tourism industry. Those who are engaged in day-to-day MICE and event management and operations will find this programme particularly interesting and useful.
Assessment is based on coursework (60%) and final examination (40%).

Programme Structure
There are 12 modules, each with 11 weeks of study:
- Introduction to Tourism
- Event Operations
- IT in Hospitality and Tourism Operations
- Introduction to Accounting
- Events, Entertainment and Conventions: Concept Development and Marketing
- Communication Skills Level 2 (English)
- Tourism Behaviour
- Marketing for the Hospitality and Tourism Industry
- Hotel and Resort Management
- The MICE Industry

- International Events and Festivals
Assessment is based on coursework (60%) and final examination (40%).
Students may study two or three subjects per term. -

Entry Requirements
Applicants should
- have one pass at HK Advanced Level and five passes at HKCEE Level, of which one should normally be English, or equivalent; Or
- have four passes at the HKDSE Level, of which one should normally be English; Or
- have the HKU-SPACE Certificate in Travel and Tourism Management, or equivalent; Or
- be mature age applicants (over 21 years) who do not fulfill the academic requirement but who can demonstrate relevant experience of a minimum of three years in the hospitality and tourism industry. Such applicants may be considered, will require a pass in English at HKCEE or HKDSE or equivalent and may be required to attend an interview.

Enrolment Method
Specific application forms for this programme can be obtained from any HKU SPACE Enrolment Centres, or you may download the forms from this website. A complete application including the following materials should reach us on/before the application closing date:
- a completed Application Form;
- a completed Enrolment Form;
- copies of relevant supporting documents;
- a non-refundable application fee of HK$150 and
- a tuition fee of HK$7,560 for the first semester. (Please pay by cheque or credit card upon application, the amount will only be debited upon successful entry to the course).
All fees are subject to change without prior notice
* The programme is designed on a modular basis, accepting three intakes of students per year in March, July and October. All fees paid are NOT refundable, unless a course is over-subscribed or cancelled. Please note that the fees quoted above apply only to Term 1 modules studied in the following intakes. These fees may be subject to revisions even after a student has submitted an application, or after you have been admitted as a student on this programme. Fees for the following terms will be advised nearer the time when you enroll on these modules.
