  • Course Description

    攝於Esplanade演奏廳

    This Postgraduate Diploma programme is designed for those who want to become a manager in the cultural sector. Students are trained to identify and explore the business potential of arts and cultural activities as well as the creative dimension of corporate and entertainment events. Current arts administrators, teachers, student teachers, curators, event administrators and organizers are particular welcome to apply as the programme will provide them with practical experience through valuable case study.

    This 1-year programme consist of 4 modules and a Field Trip:

    1. Arts and Cultural Marketing
    2. Principle of Arts and Cultural Management
    3. Seminar in Creative Industries
    4. Financial Management, Planning and Resource Development

    The programme will involve a short trip to Japan on 23-27 October 2012 (cost at approximately HK$13,000, subject to confirmation) visiting its major cultural enterprises and creative industry districts in that area.  Under special circumstancae, students can submit an extra assignment in lieu of the field trip.

    Graduates of the HKU SPACE Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Industries Management (Arts and Culture) may articulate to MA in Work Based Learning Studies (Creative Industries Management) of Middlesex University, UK.

    Academic Scholarships are provided subject to Scholarship requirement.

  • Entry Requirements

    Applicants should:

    • hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent, awarded by a recognized university; and
    • have one year of work experience in the related fields.

    Applicants with other qualifications will be considered on their individual merits.
